The downside is, I am quite adept in the art of forgetfulness, and that it is currently Tuesday afternoon, a few weeks later.
Be proud of the new generation.
Be proud.

Most of the notes I do not have to write down, because I wrote them last year. Well... most of them. This year I can look forward to finishing what notes I failed to write down due to Swifty Sally and her Speedy Slides.
This year our feature film of (not) choice was Frozen. Frozen is great, I enjoyed it. Well, until my 2 year old nephew ended up getting the DVD for Christmas, and it became a daily showing.
Now it's just pure torture, and everyone in class is insane now.
For homework we had to look up Frozen parodies, and while I found quite a few amusing showings, I had to choose a genderbend version where Elsa is replaced by a male character, in which the Let It Go song has rock elements... despite the fact that everything else about the segment is exactly the same, it has a very strong underlying change, in which the feel has shifted from a target audience of young girls, to an audience of young boys.
Despite knowing we had to plan our first assignment, I kind of ended up forgetting about it once I engrossed myself in the parodies mentioned above.
Basically, I forgot to do my homework because I was distracted with doing my homework, both for the same paper.
Initially however, I had chosen Pokemon as an iconic series. How to mix it, however, still eluded me. I have considered changing styles, such as 1920s, for example (this would create a pastiche effect), however I have also been seriously thinking about using The Legend of Zelda, quite likely Ocarina of Time.
My reasoning behind this train of thought is that utilising the poster assignment, I had this sudden picture in my head of Link appearing as a western genre, and also a sci-fi genre.
I mean, what if instead of the Master Sword, it was a blade not unlike the light sabres from Star Wars? It could totally work!
Research
Research has been going a bit slow. I knew the area I wanted to look in, that being, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic... however narrowing down the field was an important task.
Given that I myself am an artist, the area of fanart, fan contributions, seems to be a relevant road to take.
Although while I have an idea of what I want to research into, narrowing down the exact question is somewhat a challenge at this time.
My current thought is related to how the fan artists depict the characters... whether they be canon characters from the show depicted in a canon environment, or original characters created from the My Little Pony universe depicted in the artists own world, or even remixed into other fandoms - or even all these elements mashed and mixed in different ways.
Drawing
Drawing seems to be a bit relaxed this year. While I do miss having Karl as a tutor, Peter is actually quite a nice guy, and he has a sense of having us pick out our own materials and styles, so that we develop in our own ways, given that this is Year 3 Drawing.
He seems to have taken quite a liking for my work, some of the others have told me this is a really good thing that he complimented me on the first day.
While my proportions still need improvement, he advises that if the proportions are already wrong, just to work with it and to bring out the best of it.
Naturally, I do want to keep on the improvement path, however where I might fail with proportions with a single piece, that single piece may bring out another aspect of my work - so in that sense, each piece I turn out is valuable in that sense, and never a failure in any way.
Video Edit
While we are learning to use Adobe Premiere Pro, a program I am already familiar with, I am still picking up little bits and pieces of information I was not aware of... mostly it boils down to shortcuts, however there are various processes in the editing state which I did not.
I get points for knowing about the Rough Cut, however. I deserve a biscuit.
Anyhoo, we have been taking film footage (shot on actual film and is one continuous file) and creating separate subclips for every single take. The process is pretty easy, although quite repetitive. By logging the subclips created, we have been assigning the shot types along with descriptions, as well as labelling which shot came out as the best for each scene, making it easier to figure out which shot is the best choice for the first assembly.
Of course, this was also designated as a kind of legacy system, so that if anything were to happen, someone else can always take over and understand the system and it wouldn't be such a mess, not like the mess on the road in which a bus will have created with myself in the event this system is ever in need of activating.
But I would return. I am undying, and so are my puns.
While we are supposed to finish the first assembly as I type this, I completed it last week, giving me time to suddenly remember I have to write this blog.
VIVA LA FINISHING STUFF!
Someone discovered Rugga Joe.
God help us.
Scriptwriting
Scriptwriting has turned into an interesting pickle in the sense that while my classes were fine, one of the scriptwriting classes was then shifted to Wednesday afternoon, at the exact same time as Research. While I cannot drop Research, I seem to still remain in Scriptwriting, despite this. It means, however, that currently I am missing one out of two classes per week, and while I am confident that I can do this class and still pass my assignments, I am not so sure about the 80% attendance rate needed to also pass... as I can only now, at most, obtain a 50% attendance rate given that I have no choice but to miss one of the classes.
Kathryn has not gotten back to me regarding discussing this at this time.
We have written a few dialogue practices, in which mine was rather bizarre, I suppose.
I could share it with you if you like~
PIEGOR
There is only pie for one.
BILLY PIEPER
I believe only I am best qualified to eat the pie.
PIEGOR
You? Don't make me laugh - I've been eating pie longer than you have lived!
I am the true pie!
BILLY PIEPER
Don't you try to justify yourself like that! One's length of time in which he or she has been consuming pie is not enough!
It takes faith!
PIEGOR
I have stronger faith in the pie, I pray to the pie, and my soul shall be delivered by my Lord, Jesus Crust.
I am the pie's chosen one!
BILLY PIEPER
The pie, I say unto you, hath chosen me!
PIEGOR
Let's go kill some people.
BILLY PIEPER
Okay!
The dialogue itself was to represent a conflict, which was wrapped up quite nicely, especially if you survived.
The pie was delicious.
Since then, we have watched some short films and gone into genres. We were also writing a short story, which, according to my classmates (because of the classes I have been missing on Wednesdays), were to be turned into scripts, and to look up scripts.
I haven't written much, but what I have written I have put into script format.
The script I had looked up was How To Train Your Dragon 2.
In the latest of development, it seems like the best option is to drop Scriptwriting and choose another paper.
In some strange twist, Screenwriting 2 is completely free of all clashes... not quite irony, but the universe continues to laugh at me~
Thank you.
